Emily in Paris Season 3 has landed on screens just in time for Christmas and audiences cannot wait to see what Emily Cooper will do next after one year of waiting for answers.

The new series picks up from the cliffhanger of Season 2 which saw Emily, played by Lily Collins, face a difficult choice to stay in Paris and work with Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) and her new company or return to Chicago with Savoir.

Ultimately, Emily opted to stay with Sylvie in Paris but almost instantly, she found herself working not only for Sylvie but for her former boss Madeline (Kate Walsh) after struggling to quit.

Things got even more complicated for Emily when her ex-boyfriend Doug (Roe Hartrampf), offers her McDonald’s as a client after he landed the job of Associate Manager of Global Partnerships for McDonald’s.

In Episode 1, Doug shares that McDonald’s is looking to introduce the McBaguette to France in its restaurants and he wants Emily to head up the move.

The unique storyline has audiences asking “is the McBaguette real?” Newsweek has everything you need to know.

Is the McBaguette real?

Yes, believe it or not, the McBaguette really does exist and it can be purchased at McDonald’s restaurants in France. The McBaguette made its appearance on the French menu over 10 years ago, in April 2012 as a limited-edition item.

Ever since 2012, the McBaguette has made a reappearance on the McDonald’s France menu at least once a year, running for a limited amount of time.

The French-inspired sandwich can be purchased as a beef McBaguette or a Chicken McBaguette and is filled with lettuce, local Swiss cheese, and mustard sauce. The McBaguette is also baked in a stone oven to ensure a crisp crust.

Sadly, for audiences across the globe watching Emily in Paris, the McBaguette is only available to purchase in France.

The French McCafe menu also includes other French cuisines including croissants, pastries and macarons.

To coincide with the release of Emily in Paris Season 3, McDonald’s in France has launched a competition for fans to win a Baguette “It Bag” from the show. The fast-food chain has also launched an Emily in Paris menu, which includes the McBaguette and brownie & cranberry macaroons.

The McBaguette and macaroons can be purchased as part of a meal deal which includes fries and a medium drink.

After watching Episode 1 of Emily in Paris Season 3, audiences have been sharing their disbelief and excitement that the McBaguette actually exists.

Emily in Paris Season 3 is streaming on Netflix now.
